Celeste Miranda is founder of The Cannabis Marketing Lab, which serves companies specifically on the scientific and testing side of the cannabis industry. She has also branched out into a media company, with three magazine publications focused on niches like testing and processing for the plant. My favorite part about our conversation was hearing how sharply she contrasts the experience of working “in” her business on the day-to-day vs how it feels to be working “on” her business over the long haul.
Topics discussed:
- Seeing “gaps” and opportunities in the industry
- The way entrepreneurs love doing new things, and how that represents a double-edged sword
- Setting up partnerships to complement your strengths and create strengths where you’d otherwise have weaknesses
- Her best, favorite tool: Basecamp
- When everything is in harmony, that is when she can progress
- The most frustrating thing is needing to work “in” the business rather than “on” the business
- Mindset of not limiting yourself to your current capability. Nothing is truly outside your reach

Music for this podcast is by Cambrian Explosion who in a blind taste test demonstrated that they CAN tell the difference between blue and green M&Ms. It’s NOT just their imagination. Pretty impressive, and arguably one of the more impressive adventures I’ve gotten to share on this show. You can find these connoisseurs of confectionery in Portland, OR, as well as on CEPDX.Bandcamp.com, Apple iTunes, and Spotify.
Thanks for listening, I’ll see you next week.
